Amira is an operator turned angel, building a portfolio of female-founded companies. She has spent her career in GTM roles at early-stage startups as well as established companies like Uber Eats in the UK, and brings that lens to the founders she backs. She is a Founding Alma and leads the monthly Alma Breakfast series.

I’m passionate about driving innovation and advances through science and technology.

🔬Curious about purpose-led research, and how we can use science to change the world. Always aiming for positive impact.

👩‍💻Always learning- automating boring repetitive tasks and freeing up time for deep-work is the goal. I gravitate towards operational roles, where I get to wear a lot of different hats, problem-solve, and get stuff done. Tech stack: LLMs, Claude Code, Cursor, napkin.ai, Zapier, APIs, Adalo, Vercel
Gila Norich

IMPACT

Gila Norich is an impact investing professional with experience across advisory, product design, learning and knowledge development, and ecosystem building. She has worked extensively on partnerships and fundraising initiatives focused on expanding capital access for small and growing businesses. Gila currently works at the Collaborative for Frontier Finance, supporting a peer network of early-stage African fund managers and helping design and capitalise fund-of-funds and platform-level solutions. Her work with women-founded businesses comes from seeing exceptional, well-run companies led by women that are ready to scale and expand, but are too often overlooked by traditional investors.

Dear Alma Angels community, my passion for early-stage and technology-driven startups and the earliest stages of investing started when working on a clean-tech project back during university. During my scale-up-to-IPO journey and my more recent venture capital experience, I have noticed the need for supporting the visibility of and capital allocation to diverse founding teams especially in very tech-driven sectors. I am looking forward to supporting this critical mission within the community!

I am a Dutch, British, Canadian business leader with over 10 years’ experience in the retail industry, with expertise in Leadership, Management, Strategy, and Business Transformations and Optimisation.

I thrive on simplifying the complex, and generating added value through addressing strategy, processes and operations, as well as people and culture.

I am passionate about supporting female entrepreneurs on their journeys to build the businesses of the future. Someone recently said to me: “If not you, who? If not now, when?” So, I have decided there’s no time like the present to start investing personally in businesses and specifically women.
