Impact
Building a world of equal opportunities where innovation reflects the richness of human experience, in service to all of humanity
Reshape who builds, who funds, and who benefits from innovation
Women are consistently underrepresented, underserved, and undervalued in innovation.
Alma exists to combat the systemic barriers that prevent women and girls from realising their full potential as entrepreneurs, leaders and changemakers. We create new pathways to capital, education and support that empower them to start and grow impactful businesses with global ambitions.
It all started with the visionary idea that growing the pool of diverse investors will radically change the ecosystem.
By empowering more women and diverse individuals to write cheques, we create the right conditions for more diverse founders to thrive. This is the change we are building every day through our community, programmes, and partnerships.

The Alma Ripple Effect
One of our greatest privileges is seeing the Alma Alumni go on to do remarkable work that furthers our mission. Many join Alma, learn and build a strong track record, then go on to launch their own funds or ventures. The impact of Alma on our community is something we never take for granted.
Whether alumni continue as angels with us or go on to create extraordinary organisations of their own, we take pride in knowing that our work stays with them, growing the ecosystem of support and spreading the Alma mission far and wide.
Meet Jas and Jo
“Alma Angels believed in our mission with the same conviction we did. Their support has given us the confidence and community to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing young girls today” – Jas

One is the daughter of immigrant parents, the other of a Northern farmer. Both went to state schools, both first-generation university graduates.
And when it comes to entrepreneurship, some say the odds are stacked against them. They are wrong. We met them in 2022 right before they launched luna: revolutionising how teens and their parents navigate the complexities of adolescence, through a digital health and wellbeing companion. It is tackling a huge problem for millions of teens who are accessing misinformation on social media. luna’s growth has been incredible to witness as they reached 150k members shortly after Alma’s official backing

Meet Sarah & Varun
“Fashion has always inspired me, but I could no longer ignore its impact on people and the planet. Almas’ backing in 2024 has been instrumental. It gave us not just capital, but a community that believes in a fairer, more sustainable future” – Sarah

From banana tree waste in India to next-generation textiles: 29acacia transforms agricultural by-products into high-performance, low-impact fabrics.
Their material offers a scalable and sustainable alternative to cotton and viscose, with a carbon footprint 90% lower, using one-hundredth of the water, and requiring no extra land or insecticides.
Beyond sustainability, their model is rooted in fairness. By sourcing ethically and working directly with farming communities, 29acacia aims to lift 100,000 farmers out of poverty within five years.
Meet Unravel Health
“The backing of Alma Angels has been transformative for us. They’ve opened doors, shared wisdom, and stood beside us as we work to change women’s health for the better “ – Liza

Unravel Health was founded to address a critical gap in healthcare: committed to bringing women the real-time insights they need to reclaim their health journey with a revolutionary hormone-tracking technology.
Dr. Alexandra Oti, Veronika Bridgman and Liza Levy built Unravel Health so that suffering is no longer “just part of being a woman”.
Since 2020, Alma Angels have backed more than 250 women (co)founded ventures
“When women can create jobs and grow businesses - when they are equipped to meet old problems with new solutions - everyone is better off.”
